3 Wonderful Years

I just wanted to take a second to thank my most wonderful husband for the last three years. Even though it feels like we have been together forever (and we have), I have truly enjoyed growing and learning with you. Obviously we have a long way to go with Knox on the way, but I couldn't imagine doing it with anyone but you! I love you, baby!

20 Week Appointment

Before heading home last Friday for a wedding (congrats Bart and Amy Joyce) Bo and I had our 20 week appointment to be sure that Baby K was growing as he should and also to find out the gender. We woke up super excited and ready to see our sweet baby!

After waiting very impatiently for the ultrasound to begin, it wasn't too long into our session when we found out that Baby K is a...(drum roll, please)...BOY!

All is well except they found a choroid plexius cyst on his brain, which both the ultrasound tech and the doctor assured us usually goes away before the next appointment. Please pray that when we return for our next appointment at the end of the month it will have resolved itself. Bo and I are very optimistic!

Matthew Knox Mantooth is scheduled to join us on October 19th and we are so ready! We have a few projects and some shopping to get done before his arrival, but I believe the most daunting task is just carrying him through a hot Alabama summer and fall full of football, of course!

Working Hard at Home...

Since we have moved into this house I have been asking Bo to replace the mulch. I explained that I didn't think it would be that hard, but just having to go and buy it and put it out didn't sound like much fun. Well, I finally bugged him enough (and threatened to do it all by my pregnant self) that we did it! It looks so much better and even Bo said that it wasn't as hard as he thought it was going to be!

It makes me smile to walk past the flower bed to the door and not see the black plastic laughing at me! Thanks babe for all your hard work!

Bump Time

The baby bump gets bigger everyday! I know all of you cannot wait to see a picture so I have included one below. Porter was in the office and drew this for Uncle Bo on his board. I believe it is a little exaggerated for my current bump, so I am making this my 9 month bump picture!

I have been feeling Baby K for about a week now, but tonight Bo got in on the action. The movements are still light so you have to really pay attention to feel it. Baby K was in an active mood after Bo read her a few books, and really liked it when he put his head on my belly. She kicked him pretty hard in the face; the strongest one I have felt so far actually! It was such a great for moment for me knowing that I was finally able to share that feeling with the world's future greatest Daddy!

In other baby news, I will be 20 weeks along on Tuesday! Wow...just now to the halfway point - this could be a long summer! We have an appointment scheduled for Friday morning to make sure that Baby K is developing appropriately and to determine the gender. Please keep us in your prayers for this appointment; if there is anything wrong we will find out on Friday. Next post we will have some news and updated pictures for you! For now, here are some basic stats for 19 weeks. Baby K weighs about 8 1/2 ounces, and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. The hair on her scalp is sprouting. This is also a crucial time for sensory development, and she has started to hear us now - which is good since we have been reading to her for weeks!

Jacob's Graduation

I am such a proud sister at this moment! This past weekend Bo and I went back home to watch my baby brother, Jacob, graduate from our alma mater, University of Tennessee at Martin. It was great to be back in town since we haven't been but a couple of times since we graduated. If you also look you can see the baby bump that finally decided to show up!

Jacob, we love you so much and we know that you can do whatever you want so don't let us down!

Happy Mother's Day

Today is the day that we celebrate all mommies and is my first Mother's Day! I know that next year it will be different when Baby K is here, but this year has been wonderful! Baby K sent me flowers to work on Friday! The card was so sweet: "Mommy, I can't wait to meet you. I already love you!

I also want to thank Bo's and my mother for always being there for us and being great influences. It is great to know that if we ever need anything these wonderful women will always be there with a helping hand! 

Babymoon Cruise

Bo and I booked a cruise the Thursday before the Sunday we found out we were pregnant, so we decided to make it the babymoon! The weather wasn't great, but had an awesome time getting to spend time together cell phone/internet free! If you know us at all, you know that we are horrible about remembering to take pictures, so to no surprise we only took pictures on one excursion.

We had a great time eating too much and trying to stay cool. If you have never been on a cruise and are trying to find a great vacation then definitely look into it!
